Point of Lay Hens, Rhode Island Red: Natural, Pasture Raised! 

What you can expect:

  • Local pickup only - Hens will normally be available next business day. Please leave your email&/phone on the order so we can contact you; also you can contact us here to arrange a time to pick up in Plantersville, TX.
  • Location - We are located in Plantersville, TX (North West of Houston, South of Bryan/ College Station, not far from Navasota)
  • Healthy hens - Our flocks are naturally healthy, free range. 
  • When will they start laying? - They should start laying at between 4 and 6 months months old.
  • How old are our hens? - They will generally be around 2-3 months old when we make them available for sale online. This will give them 1-2months, enough time to transition, settle in their new environment, and begin laying.
  • Customer service - We still have old school "the customer is always right" customer service and we are known for going out of our way to make happy customers - simply reach out with any issue and we'll do our best to make it right, fast. We're family owned & operated, based in Plantersville, Texas on the family farm!

Our Greater Graze Flock Information: 

  • Production - Most of our hens average one egg a day & lay for a longer period of years than other breeds.
  • Feed - Free ranging with a Natural diet of seeds and bugs, together with our own home maid self mixed feed, non-factory produced! 

 

Rhode Island Red Breed information:

  • Purpose - Dual purpose (Eggs and Meat).

  • Size - Standard sized birds (Hens will be around 6.5lb with roosters being around 8.5lb).

  • Characteristics - Great egg layers, Self sufficient, Low maintenance, Ideal for beginners, Love to forage and free range, Very hardy.
