Hatch Rates
Many of our “100% Club” customers use professional or industrial incubators, often reaching 90–100%. Home incubators also do great, though results vary by setup. Smaller batches vary more, so we often include Bonus Egg(s) when available to improve your success rate. While no one can guarantee every egg in nature will hatch, our reviews are filled with authentic success stories. If you’re not completely satisfied with your hatch, we’re easy to reach and can help diagnose your setup or identify any factor we can help improve.
Rhode Island Red Breed Information
- Purpose — Dual-purpose heritage breed, excellent for both eggs and meat.
- Size — Hens ~6.5 lb; roosters ~8.5 lb.
- Temperament — Hardy, calm, self-sufficient, beginner-friendly, and excellent foragers.
Best Incubation Tips
- Before incubation — Keep eggs at room temperature, pointy end down.
- When ready — Place under a broody hen or in a pre-heated incubator.
- Temperature & humidity — Maintain 99.5°F and 55–60% humidity, increasing to 65–70% for the final 3 days.
*Unwashed eggs retain their natural bloom for protection. Slight natural nest marks may be present.
